Last month, we introduced the Zenith Pilot Extra Special limited edition watch. Today, the editor presents a set of real-life pictures for everyone. This watch is the latest collaboration between Swiss luxury watchmaker Zenith and the British retailer The Watch Gallery, with a limited edition of 35 pieces.
The watch case is made of stainless steel and is equipped with the brand’s latest Elite 679 self-winding mechanical movement. It is based on Zenith’s Pilot Type 20 Extra Special Bronze, which is a vintage pilot’s watch with a unique bronze case.
Many watch enthusiasts are overwhelmed by the simple charm of Extra Special Bronze; but there are also concerns that the case may become patina for some reason, making it unsuitable for daily wear.
Today, this Pilot Extra Special stainless steel limited edition watch does not have the above problems. The watch is decorated with the iconic blue dial of The Watch Gallery, which is more elegant, flexible and unique than the former.
As a pioneer of pilot watches, the Zenith Museum houses a number of historic timepiece creations, including the one worn by Louis Brillio in the first flight over the English Channel in 1909. A century later, the actual use of the pilot’s watch changed dramatically, but it still enchanted collectors around the world.
Zenith Pilot Extra Special stainless steel limited edition watch has a typical oversized case and onion crown. Retro Arabic numerals are particularly eye-catching. Super-LumiNova® fluorescent coating makes it excellent in dark conditions. Reading effect.
The 45 mm diameter watch is large but still stylish, especially with a dark suit, which is very rare in pilot watches.
The Zenith Pilot Extra Special stainless steel watch is limited to 35 pieces and is only available at The Watch Gallery store in the UK. The list price is 4,950 euros.
