Four years ago, Parmigiani co-founded the FleurierQualityFoundation to provide certification for premium timepieces produced by the brand. In 2018, the brand paid tribute to Toric, the first watch created by Michel Parmigiani, which successfully passed the five stages of the Fleurier Quality Certification Foundation. This certification involves testing of the movement, speed reliability, and high-quality craftsmanship of each part.
The new Toric Qualité Fleurier watch has the signature feature of the Toric series: the bezel is decorated with circular engraving and knurling in accordance with the golden ratio. Since 1997, craftsmen have crafted the knurling of every Toric watch by hand, a rare craft. Craftsmen need to operate toothed tools to leave grooves in metal materials. The bezel must be rotated 100 to 1000 times for the perfect knurling effect. The bezel of each Toric watch is unique, and the superiority of the Toric Qualité Fleurier is undoubted.
The dial of the Toric Qualité Fleurier watch is reminiscent of the ultimate dial finishing process: hand-engraved. The dial is decorated with a delicate ‘beige’ pattern. Under the manual guidance of experts, the engraved pattern gives the watch a light that no CNC machine can give, and experienced connoisseurs can recognize it at a glance. Like a knurled bezel, each dial is unique, with the unique touch and mood of the craftsman who made it. Toric Qualité Fleurier watch with solid gold hour markers and javelin-like hands, elegantly shows the passage of time.
