In 2019, IWC launched a new Spitfire series watch, paying tribute to the superb design skills of this British legendary fighter. The watch has a diameter of 46 mm and is made of stainless steel. The deep black dial features rhodium-plated hands and is coated with a luminous coating.
The watch has a second time zone display in a fan-shaped window at 12 o’clock. Calendar display window at 3 o’clock. The time zone name is engraved on the bezel. Simply turning the bezel can change the time zone of the watch. The hour hand, 24-hour display and date will also rotate automatically at the same time.
The case of the watch is polished by a brushing process to a thickness of 15.2 mm.
The watch uses the classic ‘onion’ crown design. The crown is engraved with the IWC logo.
The bottom of the watch is a dense bottom design. It is equipped with a newly developed IWC-manufactured 82760 calibre, equipped with a Pellaton automatic winding system, parts made of scratch-resistant ceramic, and a power reserve of 60 hours. The engraved pattern on the case back is exactly what this Spitfire Spitfire fighter called ‘one of the top sophisticated inventions in aviation history’.
The watch is equipped with Nato strap, which is very young and energetic while showing military style. It is suitable for tough men.
The design of this IWC Spitfire Pilot World Time Zone watch is inspired by the iconic Mark XI Pilot Navigation Table. Limited edition of 250 pieces to commemorate the ‘longest flight of the Silver Wing Spitfire’ project.
